Have you decided on buying a home in San Diego? If yes, read on…

- There have been home buyers who have been waiting to shift to a new property, owing to the fact that they grown as a family or space requirements have either increased or decreased. This is the time they would be making all the shifting.

- For all those planning on home renovations, go for lighter ones. Instead of going for the complete make-over (remember the recession is settling in), go for small touch-ups that would give your home the desired feel. In case you and your spouse are in a tiff regarding the expenses involved in the renovation and the requirements, the trend has it to call in for the services of a house therapist. The house therapists would help you to calculate the costs of the renovation that you or the better half wants and recommend the best ñ reduction in price, suggesting fewer renovations etc are some of the assets that calling for a house therapist brings with it. Besides, you also save on your relationship that might get affected due to the difference of opinion!

- The home owners and buyers are now going in for a collaborative pricing over the property, unlike when the sellers were the dictators of the house price. Secondly, the home owners are also offering the buyers with creative fiancÈ scheme such as rent to purchase, installment sales contract and so on. Then again, even the real estate agents are providing the customers (buyers) basically, with the complete facility to recognize if the buyer needs a home and if his financial situation allows him to invest in a property.

- Reporting by the media professionals in the last year trends show that media is now out there to reassure the investors that not all the segments of the real estate have been affected. A report cites that home sales are expected to fall to 5.02 million when compared to 5.652 million in the year 2007. Thus, the homes selling for the full price and in speed are still making headlines.

- The smart home owners are taking the property tax matter to the government. They have appealed for a decrease of the property taxes, what with the devaluation of the equity on their property. Thus, it will also allow the home owner to offer the property for a lower price in the market, when the market catches up again.

- The garages are going for a complete revamp from their plain white look to more creative styling. The walls too are changing their color from dull and plain to brighter, younger and fresher hues.

- The dining chairs are now shifting places, style and color, what with the home owners going for mix and match and recycling of the chairs. This has become a fashion indeed, much the way love seats in a pair of two or three are making their way into the drawing and sitting rooms. Not only are these easily to handle and manage, these also provide for more coziness and closeness. Home owners are also spending on the bed, what with them spending more time in home and bed becomes a sanctuary for us all. Get plush cushions, mattresses and covers to make it appealing.

- The older appliances are making a comeback, what with their solid construction. Coming in new bold colors, repainted and working, these have become a latest fad amongst the collectors and users!
