Building an eco-friendly home in San Diego is a great idea.

Out of the very fellow Americans imagination lays a point that this modern western civilization lacked efficiency to maintain a controlled eco-friendly atmosphere around them. They have been indulged piling up tons of garbage each week, and the amount significantly increasing during festivals. Robert Lilienfeld, co-author of “Use Less Stuff: Environmental Solutions for Who We Really Are” states that already disposal stays a major problem at the US, but during festivals like the New Year or the Thanksgiving, Americans throws away an extra million tons of garbage each week.

It seems that we peoples have played a good time with the Mother Nature and we should immediately set goals to recompense them as soon as possible to avoid natural disasters. Thus, during this holiday seasons this year, we will try our best to avoid extra disposal and rather be an eco-friendly citizens. Below listed are some suggestions to bring about the outcome.

Change the pattern.
One of the main problems of disposal stay is the contamination of plastic toys and gadgets around the garbage that are non-biodegradable and persists in the environment. Thus, it is advised not to give away such presents in any occasions. After all, gift is a gift, and it can be any thing like a  baseball game ticket or a  movie ticket, or might even be some home baked cookie or cake. These are not just eco-friendly, but do reduce the problem to disposal.

In addition, if one needs to ship their presents or distant locations, it is rather advised to avoid polystyrene packaging system or wrapping papers and instead use biodegradable crumbled newspaper or even popped popcorn sometimes.

How about trees?
How about surprising the folks with a real tree this Christmas? Tree as a gift would just be the right eco-friendly tool that does not only enhances the green environment around the house, but also can used and reused each year. Artificial trees are not a bad idea too as it saves a lot of labor compared to real tress that requires lots of care and pamper.

Enlighten, with efficiency!
Our best know Light Emitting Diodes, LED’s, are one of the most efficient known light bulbs that is 90% better energy saving than normal light bulbs, reports from U.S. Department of Energy confirms. It also says that if all families in U.S. use LED has to light their festivals, would save up to 2.5 billion KW of electricity.

Think smart!
There is absolutely no need for the competition of buying expensive ornaments to decorate the Christmas tree; they are just waste of money. Instead, stuffs like child’s first shoe, grandpas’ hankie, or miniature toy cars work just as well to represent a happy moment.

AT the end, recycle.
After that the party is over, at the New Year, try a tree-recycling plan. That recycling the fresh Christmas tree in the yard or a nearby garden would provide reduced holiday waste and help reduce landfill organic wastes. Recycling the tree would provide a better living atmosphere around, would help reduce soil erosion, and moreover, can be used at the next years Christmas Eve too!
