‘Hope’ is the trademark of the new President. People are looking ahead for better days. The presidential administration has already built a reputation with a vision on ‘green’. Time will prove whether green turns out fully useful to the US economy. This is indeed, something good for the San Diego home owners as well.
Green building gets mass acceptance
Some recent studies show some evident signs for it. There are economists enthused on this, while others are skeptic. But as far as a recovery map is concerned, working ‘green’ does hold potentials for green jobs along with green infrastructure.
The recent study found that consumers are looking to reside in convenient yet economically viable houses. For businesses cutting operating or utility costs, green building is a growing concern. A research studied diverse sources to examine common American’s concern in green homes and buildings.
The United States has a national council for Green Building. Its CEO recently commented on the findings of a green research on Americans. He thinks that the upcoming days are evidently the time for green environment. Such environment will revolve around energy efficiency and reduction in water usage. People will see smart engineering for fresher indoor air, made widely available and affordable.
The way it contributes to economic recovery
Time and on, Americans are foreseeing a brighter future through infrastructural transitions towards a sustainable and green economy. If this is broken down in a triangle, there are three components- environmental accountability, economic achievements, plus social equity. These are all imperative as a recovery plan moves forward.
Companies like the Turner Constructions have ambitious projects like the “Green Building Barometer.” It involves around 75% of profit-making executives working in real estate industries. This includes developers, owners of rental building, real estate brokers, building architects/engineers and so on.
Evident statistics
This project recently claimed that the current credit crunch would not dispirit them from proceeding with building green. In the research, around 83% commented that they would almost surly be seeking official certification from LEED for those buildings they plan to build in the upcoming 3 years.
In a nutshell, there have been a range of studies to gauge the acceptability of green building among Americans. The respondents to those surveys were consumers along with homeowners. But top executives of commercial ventures were also among the respondents. Other major findings of the research are as follows-
1. 70% homebuyers prefer buying green houses rather than buying usual homes. More than 50% green house buyers of last year said that, their per-year income is around 70,000 dollars. Just around 29 percent were earning less than $50,000.
2. Around 80% of profitable building owners took proactive steps towards green homes. They willingly allocated funds for green projects. Around 40% of them are planning to beef up sustainable investment budgets this year.
3. Last year’s Green Survey found that nearly 60% for-profit building proprietors offered education programs for assisting tenants. This was aimed at implementation of practical green building programs.
LEED-certified programs are thoroughly linked with over $10 billion worth green materials. There are clear possibilities that this could reach a $100 billion mark by the end of 2020.
