There is however some good news for first time home buyers with FHA loans making a comeback. This news is good for many people who have been hoping to invest in a property in the city.

So, who is actually a good candidate for a FHA loan? These loans are great for people who are working and can afford the loan payments, but may need some help with the initial down payment. For people straight out of school or college in their first job placements, an FHA loan may be exactly what they are looking for. They can get help from their parents or their relatives with the down-payment, as long as they can afford the monthly payments on their own.  A FHA loan requires a 3% down payment which is very reasonable compared to may of the other loans out there that now ask for a 5% down payment. For first time buyers, the high percentages of the down payment can be a nightmare and put a complete stop to their hopes of investing in a San Diego home. The come back of FHA loans can be a great solution to many first time home buyers in the area, and will open up many more doors for them.

San Diego is homes to miles of beach, and has a beautiful mild Mediterranean climate. Although buyers will be living in a large city, San Diego has a coastal small town feel to it, which has been an attraction to many buyers all over the country. Canyons, park land and beaches are abound in the area, and are a great place for walking and exploring the numerous hiking trails. Real estate is available with fantastic views of the surrounding seas, canyons, parks, mountains and desert. Buyers can choose between different neighborhoods in the city depending on what views they would like and what kind of property they are looking for. There are several farms found in the valleys in the suburbs, large apartments and condominiums in the city center, family villas along the beach front and houses spread throughout the city.

For a first time buyer, as well as second and third time buyers, San Diego real estate has a lot to offer. Properties are within close proximity to shopping centers, banks, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. There are schools and jobs available through out the city. Entertainment options are plentiful, with cinemas, theaters and bowling alleys on offer everywhere. The fabulous coastline offers a great range of water sports and day excursions, so there is a lot to keep people occupied on the weekends.
